Drive Head

Rotex drive heads come in three configurations.

Single Weight Drive: Used on smaller machines; only requires major counterweight for balancing and can be cable-suspended or floor-mounted.
Dynamic Absorber Drive: Uses a major counterweight combined with leafsprings and weight packs to achieve balancing; these machines must be cable-suspended.
Gear Drive: Uses both major and minor counterweights to achieve balancing; these machines can be cable-suspended or floor-mounted.

Drag Link

The drag link is a physical connection that attaches the screen box assembly to the machine base; this connection converts the gyratory motion created by the drive head to reciprocating motion for precise, near-size separation.

Compensating Clamps/Screen Frame Removal

The top cover is the main point of access to the screen decks; by releasing the toolless compensating clamps and lifting the cover off, you can access the screen frames directly. Each deck must be removed for screen change-out. The screens are attached using Rotex tensioning clips, which automatically draw the correct tension on the screen clothing.

Inspection Ports

Inspection ports are located on the top cover of the machine. When the machine is stopped, you can easily remove the inspection cap and ensure the screener is operating correctly. This could include inspections for screen blinding, screen tears or material buildup.

Inlet Connection

Rotex customizes each machine configuration to match the exact application needs. Inlet connection options include:

Slide Bearings

Slide bearings are bearings where only sliding friction is generated. The shaft is generally supported by the sliding surface, with oil and air in between to facilitate sliding movement. Sliding bearings are lightweight and have a long operating life while introducing minimal vibrations or noise.

Discharge Chute

The APEX™ discharge chute offers easily accessible outlets and customizable outlet configurations. Outside of the outlets, you can also customize the discharge chute by adding hinges to improve accessibility for product cleanouts and inspections. Lastly, you can include up to two different aspirated fractions for added separation capabilities.

Drive

The Rotex Minerals Separator™ drive is used to generate the legendary Rotex Gyratory Reciprocating Motion.

It is externally mounted at the head end of the machine.
It reduces maintenance by providing easier access through simple removal of the drive guard in a matter of minutes.

Easy Access Doors

Screen access and changes are easier than ever with the Rotex customized DESTACO door clamps.

Access and inspect screens in a matter of seconds.
Screen removal is accomplished in two steps: removing the safety bolt and lowering the cams.
Once the screen deck is pulled out, the old screen can be removed. Using our patented automatic tensioning clips, the new screen is applied and ready for reinstallation.

Sliding Inlet

The Rotex sliding inlet eliminates the hassle associated with flexible connections.

It uses a Teflon™ wear ring and close running flange to allow for movement of the machine.
It eliminates torn flexible connections.
It utilizes a rubber spring sleeve to ensure constant contact between wear ring and flange to reduce dust and improve plant safety.

Brush Discharge

The Rotex Minerals Separator™ incorporates brush discharge connections to eliminate troublesome flexible outlet connections.

Brush cartridges stay in constant contact with the Rotex Takeaway Box to reduce dust and contain separated product fractions.
This reduces maintenance by eliminating flexible connections and providing up to 10 times longer life.

Universal Joints

The Rotex hanger assembly integrates two universal joints at each connection point at the top and bottom.

The universal joints accommodate the torsional forces created by the unique Rotex Gyratory Reciprocating Motion while bearing the entire weight of the machine.
An ergonomically located grease fitting services both joints.

Screen Access Doors

The screen access doors allow for toolless entry, single-operator maintenance and inspections, and independent screen deck access. This means you can change the fourth deck without removing decks one, two and three, saving time and effort by directly accessing the screens that are most likely to fail first. The screens are removed through the use of toolless cams that raise and lower the individually pre-tensioned panels. With each screen change you also receive a brand-new seal, ensuring zero product contamination.
